  • Easy maintenance

  • Inboard bearing arrangement

  • Plainbearing

Advantages

The latest two models, with a difference in turbine blade design, allow selective application to a full range of diesel engines for maximum exploitation of engine exhaust-gas energy, all for the most efficient engine supercharging.

High efficiency

The compressor impeller features a 3-D blading profile that maximizes aerodynamic performance, while the turbine has blading that eliminates the need for a damping wire detrimental to turbine efficiency. Together, these inovations combine to raise total turbocharger efficiency.

Easy opening for cleaning and inspection

The turbine exhaust-gas inlet casing consists of a detachable innner casing fitted with the turbine nozzle assembly and a fixed outer casing containing the rotor shaft fitted with the turbine wheel. The inner casing can be readily unbolted and pulled from the other casing, complete with the nozzle assembly, thus exposing the turbine wheel and rotor can be removed from the outer casing.

Long service life

The turbocharger gas intlet and outlet casing, being designed on the traditional principle of non-water-cooling, remain totally free of sulfuric-acid corrosion. The plain bearings so far employed in combination with the internal bearing system for all the MET-series of turbochargers have proven nearly semipermanent in service life when provided with good-quality lubrication.
